Sheriff's office reports nine recent jail bookings

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported nine recent bookings into the parish jail.
Arrested were the following persons:
•Elaine Renee Francois, 24, 4137 Johnson Highway, Eunice, was charged November 5, with speeding, expired MVI and no driver’s license. Francois was released from jail on a $626.50 bond.
•Jimmy Don Bolfa, 54, 3698 Highway 167 North, Ville Platte, was charged November 7, with oral sexual battery. Bolfa remained in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Gregory Lavergne, 58, 912 Third St., Mamou, was charged on November 7, with violation of protective orders. Lavergne was being held in jail on a $7,500 bond at press time.
•Terricka Richard, 27, 714 Harvey Lebas Road, Ville Platte, was charged November 7, with issuing worthless checks. Richard was released from jail on a $300 bond.
•Kevin Ronald Autrey, 50, 3627 Verot School Road, Lafayette, was charged November 7, with home improvement fraud. Autrey was being held in jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
•Cawaskee Ardoin, 20, 703 N. Reed St., Ville Platte, was charged November 7, with simple escape, flight from an officer, theft and resisting an officer. Ardoin was being held in jail on a $50,000 bond at press time.
•Heath Bergeron, 41, 2899 McClelland Road, Eunice, was charged November 8, with domestic abuse battery. Bergeron was released from jail on a $5,000 bond.
•Gareth Brent Brown, 26, 625 Ninth St., Mamou, was charged November 12, with attempted simple burglary and criminal damage to property over $500. No bond information was available at press time.
•Elizabeth Opal Richard, 25, 5540 St. Landry Highway, Ville Platte, was charged November 12, with issuing worthless checks, identity theft and resisting an officer. Richard was released from jail on a $1,000 bond.

•Nikki Fontenot, 39, 1006 Hackberry, Mamou, was charged November 17, with disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting an officer. Fontenot bonded out of jail.

•Patrick Thomas, 32, 1109 Sixth St., Mamou, was charged November 12, with theft of goods over $500. Thomas was being held in jail on a $2,500 bond at press time.
•Marie K. Lamb, 21, 1096 Acadian Drive, Mamou, was charged November 12, with introducing contraband into a penal institution. Lamb was being held in jail on a $18,000 bond at press time.
•Dustin Sidwell, 27, 1100 Main St., Apt. 156, Mamou, was charged November 12, with simple burglary of a motor vehicle. Sidwell was released from jail on a $12,000 bond.
•Ronald Dale Clark, 3195 Turkey Creek Highway, Ville Platte, was charged November 13, with aggravated battery. Clark was released from jail on a $8,000 bond.

•Reggie Jack, 42, 103 Hickory St., Mamou, was charged November 20, with disturbing the peace by intoxication. Jack was transferred to the parish jail.
•Dewayne Thomas, 22, 527 East St., Apt. 3, Mamou, was charged November 22, with disturbing the peace with language. Thomas remained in jail at press time.
•Ashley Fontenot, 25, 527 East St., Apt. 3, Mamou, was charged November 22, with disturbing the peace with language. Fontenot was released from jail.

•Colby Craig Lafleur, 31, 1040 Midway Rd., Ville Platte, was charged November 19, with DWI (first offense), careless operation and open container, Lafleur was released from jail on a $1,301.50 bond.
•Rita Gale Matte, 43, 1096 Archie Road, Eunice, was charged November 20, with theft over $7,000. Matte was being held in jail on a $25,000 bond at press time.
•Giovanate Jones Vailare, 19, 712 S. Dupre, Apt. 74, was charged November 20, with possession of a controlled dangerous substance with intent to distribute in a school zone. Vailare remained in jail on a $10,000 bond at press time.
•Patrick O’Neal Johnson, 35, 601 W. Jackson St., Lot 5, Ville Platte, was charged November 20, with home invasion, simple battery and simple criminal damage to property. Johnson was being held in jail on a $20,000 bond at press time.
•Joseph Farrell Guillory, 36, 1126 Rollins Road, Ville Platte, was charged November 23, with domestic abuse. Guillory was being held in jail on a $5,000 bond at press time.
•Joseph Julian Brignac, 19, 1312 Lee St., Mamou, was charged November 25, with DWI (second offense), driving left of center and open container. Brignac was released from jail on a $1,901.50 bond.
•Kerry E. Gautreaux, 23, 163 Pitre Lane, Ville Platte, was charged November 23, with speeding (75 mph in a 45 mph zone) and reckless operation. Gautreaux was being held in jail on a $400 bond at press time.
•Alex Ardoin, 25, 109 Fourth St., Mamou, was charged November 23, with possession of crack cocaine. No bonding information was available.
•Lynn Landreau, 40, 1351 Faris St., Eunice, was charged November 24, with speeding and driving under suspension. Landreau was being held in jail on a $616 bond at press time.

Ville Platte police investigate slaying

Police continue to investigate a shooting that took place early Sunday.
A woman who lives in a home on Martin Luther King Drive told police a man came into her home about 1 a.m. Sunday while her two children were in bed.
The owner said the man, wearing a ski mask, ran through the house to where a man -- the woman’s friend -- was behind the house.
The man with the gun demanded money and a struggle between the two men ensued. The woman said during the struggle, the man who intruded into the house was shot with his own gun.
Police have not identified the slain man, and no charges have been made as of 10 a.m. Monday.

•Christy D. Deshotel, 40, 218 Railroad Ave., #43, Mamou, was charged November 26, with disturbing the peace by fighting and remaining after being forbidden. Deshotel bonded out of jail the next day.
•Michelle Bieber, 42, 1200 Charles Ave., Mamou, was charged November 26, with disturbing the peace by fighting. Bieber bonded out of jail the next day.
•Brandy Fontenot, 40, 637 Third St., Mamou, was charged November 28, with simple battery. Fontenot bonded out of jail the same day.
•Jamie McMurray, age unknown, 6053 Highway 167, Ville Platte, was charged November 28, with simple criminal damage to property. McMurray bonded out of jail the same day.
•Caravian August, age unknown, 641 Second St., Mamou, was charged November 30, with driver must be licensed. August bonded out of jail the same day.
•Charles Dicky Reed, 43, 212 Main St., Mamou, was charged December 1, with simple battery. Reed bonded out of jail the same day.

•John E. Poullard, 21, 1327 M.L.K. Drive, Ville Platte, was charged November 25, with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, hit and run and no driver’s license. Poullard was being held in jail on a $25,000 bond at press time.
•John Phillips, age unknown, 1140 Bullard Road., Opelouas, was charged November 26, with theft over $500. Phillips was being held in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.
•Elizabeth Rose Navarre, 28, 114 Opelousas Road, Ville Platte, was charged November 26, with theft over $500. Navarre was being held in jail on a $15,000 bond at press time.

The Ville Platte Police Department reported six arrests recently.
Arrested were the following:
•Jaonnie Arvie, 25, 706 Derouen St., Ville Platte, was charged December 24, with criminal damage to property. Arvie was released on a $200 bond.
•Tyrin Frank, 18, 604 E. LaSalle St., Ville Platte, was charged December 25, with domestic abuse battery, criminal damage to property and resisting arrest by flight. Frank was released on a $2,450 bond.
•Reginald Toussaint, 46, 1186 Chataignier St., Ville Platte, was charged December 30, with driving with no driver’s license and no insurance. No bond information was available.
•Danielle Gallow, 25, 1504 Anita St., Ville Platte, was charged December 28, with possession of marijuana. Gallow was released on a $2,500 bond.
•Anjanetta Durgin, 32, 1640 Pine Point Road, Ville Platte, was charged December 24, with shoplifting. Durgin was released on a $500 bond.
•Annie Jones, 33, 516 High School Drive, Ville Platte, was charged December 26, with no reflective gear, disturbing the peace by intoxication, remaining after being forbidden and resisting arrest.

The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 15 bookings recently in the parish jail.
Arrested were the following:
•Patrick Deville II, 27, 1032 Pine St., Basile, was charged December 23, with DWI (first offense), driving under suspension, no insurance and careless operation. Deville was released on a $7,500 bond.
•Bradley Doucet, 20, 814 W. Cotton St., Ville Platte, was charged December 23, with simple burglary. At press time, Doucet remained incarcerated on a $15,000 bond.
•Marco Rene France, 23, 441 Acadia Drive, Eunice, was charged December 23, with theft. At press time, France remained incarcerated on a $10,000 bond.
•Kaleb Paul Smith, 23, 228 Rue Aur DeAimee Road, Ville Platte, was charged December 23, with simple criminal damage to property. At press time, Smith remained incarcerated on a $7,500 bond.
•Rory Phillip Ordner, 23, 2626 Railroad St., Basile, was charged December 23, with disturbing the peace and criminal damage to property. Ordner was released on a $2,500 bond.
•Jacob Trahan, 22, 103 Amethyst Lane, Lafayette, was charged December 24, with simple battery and disturbing the peace. Trahan was released on a $1,000 bond.
•James Aaron Turner, 54, 1011 E. Dixon St., Oakdale, was charged December 25, with disturbing the peace. Turner was released on a $1,000 bond.
•Raymond A. Dardar, 24, 2965 Highway 167 North, Ville Platte, was charged December 28, with careless operation, leaving the scene of an accident and no insurance. Dardar was released on a $1,000 bond.
•Carolyn S. Ceaser, 18, 2457 Smith St., Basile, was charged December 29, with simple battery on a juvenile. Ceaser was released on a $2,500 bond.
•Tamala Williams, 44, 138 Lester St., Ville Platte, was charged December 29, with no proof of insurance, no registration and suspended driver’s license. At press time, Williams remained incarcerated on a $5,000 bond.
